In todays’ New Zealand Herald, Westmere School gets a mention and a video link for the TV Ad that was filmed with Jordan Luck and the seniors under the heading

School’s big effort for Little Day Out” (+video)”

An Auckland primary school has taken the unusual step of making a TV ad to promote its fund-raising music festival.

Singer Jordan Luck, who will perform in the festival, and about 20 Westmere Primary students star in the 30-second ad for the school’s Little Day Out event on Saturday.

The commercial opens with Luck reflecting on “gigs you just never forget”.

“You hear the screaming, the yell of the audience, it’s just amazing….”

Special thanks to Lisa Mein and Anna Verboeket of Speak No Evil for much behind the scenes work on making this story happen.

JASON OXENHAM/Auckland City Harbour NewsBut wait there is more…under the heading – Little Day Out gets big support – the Auckland City Harbour News in Stuff published a great photo of 3 year 6 boys from Westmere School.

Leo Drake-Rogers, Josh Hickey and Isaac Ah Kuoi-Atmore in their Little Day Out Tshirts talking about the Little Day Out. Go Senior school!

“A new second stage on the school’s back field will host activities organised by a committee of senior students.

Year 6 student Isaac Ah Kuoi-Atmore, 10, has organised a dance competition, a Weet-Bix-eating competition, Westmere Idol and a cream-the-teacher stall.

But fellow organiser Josh Hickey, 10, says the most popular event by far will be wet-the-teacher.

For $2 spectators can throw balls and try and soak their favourite, or least favourite, teachers.”

Dianne and Brett returned to New Zealand in 2002 and have recently finished recording Earth From Space, an album of songs they have written together and separately as The Bads.

Check the bads myspace page for some sounds especially “Carry the Weight.”

After the amazing and sometimes stressful London experience, they feel a lot more relaxed about music and things in general and which is evident in this collection of songs that show a strength and maturity, and have a unique yet timeless quality.
